Funding
Prices for plastic surgery and injection treatments vary from clinic to clinic. At Novokliniken, however, quality, safety, service, and follow-up are always of the highest priority. This is something that is reflected in the price. Because, in fact, it is the result that matters, and if you are not satisfied with the treatment outcome, it does not matter what the price tag said.
The listed prices include the costs for surgery, follow-up visits, dressing materials, and medication during your stay with us, as well as any applicable VAT and our safety guarantee. However, prices may vary slightly from patient to patient.
Payment
Novokliniken is a cash-free clinic. Payment is therefore made via Swish, card, or invoice. If you have booked surgery, payment must be received at least 2 weeks before the day of surgery.
If you cancel the surgery without a valid reason, you will be charged 20% of the total surgery cost. A valid reason means you have a medical certificate explaining why you cannot undergo surgery. Changing your mind is not a valid reason and will result in a charge.
In connection with the surgery appointment letter, which arrives approximately 4 weeks before the surgery, you should get in touch if you do not want the appointment time, and you will not be charged. You will receive payment information in connection with your appointment letter, which is sent via email.

Risks and complications
All types of surgery carry risks. This also applies to cosmetic procedures, both large and small.
The first risk you face as a patient is during the surgery itself. This is because general anesthesia can involve risks, even if they are very rare. Most often, these are minor complications related to the effects of the anesthesia. For example, it could involve nausea, vomiting, a sore throat, headaches, and a delayed recovery of normal mental function. During the surgery itself, there is also a risk of bleeding and infections, but these too are very rare.
Complications that can occur after an operation are:
Unappealing scars
Bleeding (hematoma)
Infection
Healing difficulties
Changes in skin sensitivity (temporary or permanent)
Accumulation of fluid (seroma)
Pain
Allergy to tape, adhesives, sutures and medications
Skin necrosis
Specific risks with silicone implants
The most commonly used material in breast augmentation continues to be silicone implants. There are several different manufacturers producing silicone implants, with various types of projections (shapes) that best suit different patients depending on their prerequisites, desires, and needs. There are also different types of contents in silicone implants, but Novoklinken exclusively uses silicone gel. That is, non-liquid silicone. When it comes to the surface of your silicone implant, however, you have four options to choose from:
Smooth
Micro-textured
Textured
Macro-textured
Today, a link has been established between textured (both micro-textured and macro-textured) implants and lymphoma, which is a tumor of the blood system. The condition is known as BIA-ALCL (Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma) and is extremely rare, but it is still something you as a patient should be aware of in order to be attentive to symptoms following surgery with this type of implant.
The most common symptom of BIA-ALCL is a significant breast swelling caused by seroma formation, which can occur in a patient with a textured implant. The swelling usually occurs spontaneously without any connection to trauma or clinical infection. Less common symptoms of BIA-ALCL include capsular contracture and thickening or adjacent masses near the capsule around the implants. BIA-ALCL can occur as early as two and a half years or as late as twenty-five years after the primary surgery, but on average, it takes eight years.
Recently published data on patients affected by BIA-ALCL in the US indicated a lifetime prevalence of 33/1,000,000 for patients with textured implants. In all probability, this is because the patients in question have a genetic predisposition to developing this particular type of lymphoma.
The recommendation regarding BIA-ALCL is that you, as a patient, undergo an annual routine check-up with your plastic surgeon, gynecologist, or midwife. If necessary, an examination of the breast fluid should be performed. The treatment involves removal of the entire implant with its surrounding capsule, which requires an experienced plastic or breast surgeon.
Another risk with textured implants is that chronic inflammation can occur in the breast tissue. The uneven surface of a textured implant also means that bacteria can establish themselves on them, leading to a type of subtle immunological reaction over many years. To minimize the risks of bacteria, Novokliniken uses several well-established strategic measures during the surgery.
Warranties for implants
At Novokliniken, we offer two different brands of breast implants, Mentor and Motiva.
According to Mentor, breast implants do not last a lifetime. To detect asymptomatic ruptures, they recommend an MRI scan three years after the initial implantation and every two years thereafter.
Mentor's warranties include a lifetime warranty in the event that your implant should rupture, meaning that in the case of a rupture and capsular contracture (Baker III/IV) you will receive replacement implants as long as you have implants from Mentor (product replacement). This warranty does not cover the surgery, but only the product (the implants).
If the rupture occurs within 10 years of implantation, Mentor's warranty program also provides financial compensation of up to €1000. This compensation only applies to replacement surgery.
Mentor's warranties apply automatically from the day of surgery.

The warranty for Motiva Ergonomix 2 JOY 2 includes a lifetime warranty of new implants (product replacement) in the event of a rupture. In the case of capsular contracture (Baker III/IV), you will receive replacement implants within 10 years and up to $2500 within 5 years from surgery, as long as you have the Motiva Ergonomix 2 JOY 2 implant (product replacement).
Motiva Ergonomix 2 JOY 2 also has a right of withdrawal as well as financial compensation of $1500 for up to 2 years upon removal of implants.
The warranties from Motiva only apply if you, as a patient, have registered your implants with Motiva within 3 months of the surgery date.
